Pagoda Series Box, Mopane Spiral

Mopane box with African Blackwood upper pagoda and boxwood in the slotting on the upper drum and flame finial of amboyna burl. The box is ornamented in a basketwork spiral pattern of 30 rows of 20 cuts with the 0.050" square cutter making a total of 600 separate cuts. The drum of the upper pagoda is pierced with a slotting cutter exposing a layer of boxwood between the blackwood which highlights the opening. The roof is fluted.
