[PB19] (Size: 1 3/8"D
x 4 1/4"H)
This perfume bottle is made of Brazilian rosewood for the base
with African Blackwood trim rings, an Algerian pipe briar dome
and Amboyna burl top finial. The base is cut with the spiral
apparatus utilizing crossing cuts to create a spiral chain effect
wrapping around the piece. The base is inlaid with blackwood
which shows through the cut-out cross designs around the foot.
The waist is cul with a flared dentil molding that flows into the
briar dome. A fluted blackwood skirt serves as the transition
from the dome to the finial. The color and textures of this piece
are very rich and the briar dome is highly burled. The design has
a definite Middle-Eastern feel to it. An improved O-ring coupler
securely holds the glass bottle liner in the base, yet allows for
easy removal to fill with fragrance.
