Overhead Flexible Shaft Drive

The flexible shaft trails from the overhead motor to plug into the cutting frame spindle to provide power to the cutter. The cutting frame is held in the cross-travel tool rest of the machinists' lathe which provides x-y motion control to the cutter to an accuracy of 0.001". The index plate is locked in place by the index detent which prevents motion of the spindle to which the workpiece is attached. The lathe motor is off and the only power is to the flexible shaft drive.
